What this category covers
General cleaning is priced against a routine. These four services are priced against an outcome — and because the outcome depends heavily on what we find, the assessment matters more here than anywhere else on this website.
Two carpets of identical area can be an afternoon apart. Two post-works cleans in identically sized offices can differ by a factor of three depending on what the trades left behind.
That is why specialist scope, access, materials and equipment affect the final quotation so much more in this category. A deep clean of a commercial kitchen needs degreasing chemistry, extraction equipment and time for dwell; the same nominal “deep clean” of a quiet office suite needs almost none of that. Interior glass at ordinary reach is straightforward; the same glass at atrium height is an access problem before it is a cleaning problem.
We would rather ask more questions up front — and, where it is warranted, look at the property — than issue a confident number that turns into a conversation about extras halfway through the job. Where the condition genuinely cannot be judged until work starts, we will say that plainly and explain what would change the price.
Assessment first. For most work in this category we will want to understand the condition properly — through detailed questions, photographs, or a visit to the property where the scale or uncertainty justifies it — before a meaningful quotation exists.

Internal partitions, meeting-room glazing, balustrades, glass doors, mirrors and the inside face of windows reachable safely from the floor or ordinary access equipment. Specialist high-level and external access are separately quoted.

Carpets, rugs, chairs, sofas and fabric partitions cleaned by a method chosen for the fibre and construction, following inspection and a discreet test. Improvement is the objective; complete removal of every mark cannot be guaranteed.
From £1,250
A single intensive attendance working through an itemised list — behind and beneath equipment, inside cupboards and appliances, and across accumulated build-up. A detailed agreed scope, not guaranteed sterilisation.
From £1,600
Fine dust, adhesive residues, protective film and finishing marks removed after construction or fit-out so a space can be inspected and handed over. Does not include hazardous or specialist construction waste.
Why specialist work is quoted differently
In this category, two properties of the same size routinely produce very different quotations. These are the reasons, and we would rather explain them than have you assume the price is arbitrary.
How far the work goes. “Deep clean the kitchen” can mean surfaces and floors, or it can mean stripping down extraction, moving equipment and clearing every cupboard. These are different jobs.
Whether the work can be reached safely from the floor, needs ordinary access equipment, or requires specialist arrangements. Height, obstruction and clearance decide method before anything else.
Specialist chemistry costs more and needs matching to the surface. Natural stone, sealed timber, delicate fibres and coated glass each rule certain products out entirely.
Extraction machines, rotary equipment, scrubber driers and drying gear all have to be transported, powered, used and maintained. Some scopes need several in sequence.

How to read these figures Prices shown are indicative starting prices for an agreed service scope. The final quotation depends on the size and condition of the premises, cleaning frequency, access arrangements, working hours, staffing requirements, location, equipment, materials and any additional requirements. They are not per hour, per visit, per week or per month unless an accepted quotation defines that basis. Specialist scope, access, materials and equipment have a particularly strong effect on the price of the services in this category.
Questions
No, and we will not claim otherwise. Some staining is permanent — it has bleached, dyed or physically damaged the material, or a previous treatment has set it. Our objective is a genuine, visible improvement achieved by an appropriate method. Where we can see in advance that a particular mark is unlikely to respond, we tell you before the work rather than after it. This applies particularly to carpet and upholstery cleaning.
It depends on the service. Deep cleaning and post-works cleaning are considerably more efficient in a clear space, and quoted on that assumption unless we agree otherwise. Carpet and upholstery cleaning needs the relevant items accessible and usually needs drying time before the area returns to normal use. We will tell you what we need in the quotation so it can be arranged rather than discovered on the day.
Interior glass cleaning covers the inside of the building. External glazing, facade cleaning and anything requiring access from outside — or specialist high-level access such as powered platforms or rope access — is a separate discipline and is not included unless it has been separately assessed, agreed and quoted. Ordinary cleaning waste generated by our own work is handled as part of the job. Construction waste, packaging volumes, offcuts and site debris are a separate matter that must be assessed and agreed in advance. We do not remove hazardous or specialist waste — including anything containing or suspected to contain asbestos — and we do not accept scopes that assume otherwise. Yes, and it is a sensible arrangement. A common pattern is a deep clean to establish a baseline, a general cleaning scope to maintain it, and periodic carpet or glass work scheduled into the year. Each element is scoped and priced separately so you can see what you are paying for and adjust one without disturbing the others.
